Sunset and sunrise,
they both look the same –
the beginning or end
of a long and cruel game

The red, pink, orange
meld into blue sky
And the road ahead
is as long as my sigh

“Just breathe,” I say,
“You will get there soon!”
as I spy a glimmer
of a bright, full moon

“Never again,” I tell myself
as trees disappear from view,
transforming into a landscape, clear,
welcoming what’s long past due

I’ve finally found the way to go,
it’s laid out for me to see
The sun will rise and set again
on everyone else but me
