“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
-Jeremiah 29:11
We often think we know what is best for us. But we often find our plans fail as well, and things do not work out the way we had hoped. And then we’re left wondering what happened and why things went sideways for us.
To ensure a specific outcome is in our best interests, submit the situation to God. Considering it from His divine vantage point, He will mull it over, and decide if, when or how our prayers will be answered. The usual ways he will respond are either with a “yes,” “no,” or “I need you to wait for this one.”
Pray always that His will would be done. Pray that you see the moments perceived as disastrous as ones that produced good fruit in your life. Pray also the Lord will fix your gaze on the road ahead, not longing for a past out of view, but for the dreams in your heart to be fulfilled, and for God to be in the midst of them.
